Border patrol chief: Calls to abolish ICE impact the morale of my team

Newly appointed Customs and Border Patrol chief Carla Provost said in an interview that aired on Thursday that calls to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement negatively impact the morale of her team. “It certainly impacts the morale of my men and women. I think that just the negative climate on the work that they’re doing," Provost told Hill.TV's Buck Sexton on "Rising." "We have amazing people on the border patrol, and they are out risking their lives every day to protect this nation, and I’m extremely proud of the work that they do, but it’s a difficult time with what they see in the media," she continued. Provost went on to emphasize how much the two agencies rely on each other in securing the U.S. border. “We have to have ICE. The border patrol has to have ICE because it’s not our job to do the detention portion. We have to have that ability. ICE brings so much to the table," Provost said.
