Female CEO: We need to close the gender disparity in entrepreneurship

Entrepreneur and CEO Heidi Ganahl expressed her concern over the gender disparity in entrepreneurship and business on Friday, citing her experience selling her own company. “When I noticed a difference is when I went to sell the company a few years ago, and I met with all of the potential buyers in these big investment banking firms, and it was all male," Ganahl told Hill.TV's Buck Sexton and Krystal Ball on "Rising, referring to Camp Bow Wow, the dog daycare and boarding franchise she started. "Not one woman of the eight groups we met with came in to talk to us," she added. "I thought ‘Oh my goodness, not only do we need to get young women involved in STEM, we also need to get our girls interested in money, and investment banking, and finances.'" Ganahl's comments were apart of Hill.TV's new series "Disruptors, Innovators, Job Creators." The National Association of Women Business Owners found in a 2017 survey that over 11.6 million business firms in the U.S. are owned by women
