New Cracks Found on Massive Floating Glacier

Scientists have discovered new cracks on the floating “tongue” of Petermann, one of Greenland’s most prominent glaciers. The cracks could lead another “calving” event where a mass of ice breaks off. Petermann had previously suffered a bad break in 2012 when an iceberg the size of Manhattan broke off.
